  • To marvel at 95 years old as at the dawn of one's life, this is the very special gift of Alice Mendelson. Three of her friends, Catherine Ringer - half of Les Rita Mitsouko - as a narrator, the storyteller Pascal Quéré and the poet Violaine Boneu invite us to meet this unique personality, a champion of female eroticism as a vision of the world.

To marvel at 95 years old as at the dawn of one's life, this is the very special gift of Alice Mendelson. Three of her friends, Catherine Ringer - half of Les Rita Mitsouko - as a narrator, the storyteller Pascal Quéré and the poet Violaine Boneu invite us to meet this unique personality, a champion of female eroticism as a vision of the world.
"Never hurry to live". This is one of Alice Mendelson's leitmotivs, who in an era where alienation is on the rise, persists in experiencing the smallest events of everyday life with a radiant joy, synonymous with an acute awareness of the world. This joy could be nothing but pain for this woman who survived the Vel'd'Hiv round-up and whose father perished in Auschwitz. On the contrary, it resembles a lucid wonderment that has discreetly percolated through the scattered poems, written over more than 70 years and preserved in her archives... With a loving and playful language, allowing herself all the audacity, Alice Mendelson celebrates eroticism in the feminine in these texts that would undoubtedly have remained hidden without the eyes and the collective impulse of the trio of artists. Touched by the power and generosity of her writing, they have imagined this poetic performance together as a dance full of humour and mystery that gives pride of place to the grain of the voices. There is the storyteller Pascal Quéré, the poet Violaine Boneu and that other great friend of Alice's, Catherine Ringer - who is also an author and actress - bringing out another luminous facet of her talent for this exceptional date in Auxerre. A rare moment, not to be missed under any pretext... and to be prolonged for a long time by the reading of the collection which will be published on this occasion by Alain Kewes. You have certainly already met him: he regularly quenches our thirst at the Theatre's Poetry Bar!
