In a word, these adventurous musicians like to take a wide berth. For this concert, the orchestra has concocted a programme that will take us from Vienna to Paris in the footsteps of the young Mozart, before turning south to the town of Arles. This city gave its name to a famous work by Alphonse Daudet - L'Arlésienne - a tragic love story brilliantly set to music by Georges Bizet. L'Arlésienne has remained in popular culture as the symbol of the character whose appearance on stage is constantly postponed... Perhaps to encourage us to listen even more carefully? Yes, and more than once for this performance: the Victor Hugo Orchestra will indeed make a special place for the Comédie Française resident Éric Génovèse, invited to recite Daudet's text.
