    In the darkness of the theatre, the pupils dilate. Curious coincidence, the little black berry of the belladonna has the same effect; it was used as such by the beauties of the Renaissance, hence its name... Remedy, drug or poison, it sums up the poisonous charm of the witch, reputed to master its secrets. In this show full of magic, Nathalie Pernette has chosen to revisit its rich imagination. But forget about broomsticks and pointy hats. Here, it's all endless black hair, oversized nails forming shadow puppets, serpentine or geometric gestures... Nathalie Pernette's witches have an air of Asia about them. Composed like a series of tableaux, Belladonna takes us along on a long ride, between thrills and mischief. Against a backdrop of a blazing fire, green smoke exploding on large tulles, the three performers reveal their mysterious recipes and freeze when the mournful voice of the inquisition resounds... But they also travel to jazz or blues tunes, and have fun with childish ball games and humorous video sequences filmed à la Méliès. Dark but luminous, this show is a sensitive ode to magic, to creation but also to the multiple faces of femininity...
